We returned Friday from a 21-day b2b on the Serenade of the Seas. Our primary purpose was relaxation, and that we did. We do most of our cruising on Royal and Celebrity, both large ships and smaller ones and were very pleased with these cruises. The ship is in very good shape and most of the crew are very friendly and competent.
Boarding (with one of RCI's wheel chairs) was very quick and easy around 12:30). We went to Park Café and had freshly made salads prepared with no wait time. (There was a line for sandwiches).
We kept a strange schedule, not leaving the cabin until noon or later on most days (thus leaving the breakfast calories for later in the day). We told our cabin attendants that if they was done working to ignore our cabin until dinner time. Nevertheless, it was usually cleaned when we returned from lunch. Although we had the same cabin on both parts, our cabin attendant changed (since the first finished her contract).
The E3 cabin was a little small, but we were able to fit 3 weeks of clothing onto the shelves and into the closet and drawers. We had electric cords all over the place, one for my CPAP machine (cord provided by RCI) and another for my dw's cell phone (to stay connected with her elderly mother).
Drove over narrow winding roads. Wasted an hour with a stop at Pusser Bay
The driver was not trained as a guide. They had too many people and ran out of driver guides.
