This was our 4th NCL cruise and we thought it would great going on a "just" refurbished ship; not so as we found out. Boarding was a nightmare as they only had one gangway operational and it broke down in the middle of boarding and our departure was delayed 1 1/2 to 2 hours so our 4:00pm departure became 5:45 - 6:00pm. The food choices at the buffet and the main dining rooms definitely were not our cup of tea. It just seemed like NCL is pushing you towards the specialty restaurants. We did like O'Sheehans Pub and the complementary Chinese restaurant in the orchid garden. If they wanted to keep what was refurbished a secret they did a good job.

We were definitely not impressed with this cruise. The rooms were average and we hardly ever saw our room Stewart, even after giving him an additional tip at the beginning of the trip. The brightest part of our cruise were the shore excursions we chose in San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Martin and our final stop in Tortola.

The entertainment on board was good but anything in the Spinnaker Lounge was definitely hard to get in to see and if you did get a seat it would become very warm and uncomfortable. Disembarkation was also a nightmare; to get a porter you had to wait in a line after you found your luggage and then you were brought out to street level only to find out that you had to cross 12th Ave and go up 48th Street and wait for your pick up. Dragging 3 suit cases up the street was not much fun. Unfortunately this could be our last NCL cruise, it's much easier going out of Bayonne and we've done R/C and Celebrity before and have had enjoyable experiences.
