After taking a couple of hours to embark with great excitement we were not disappointed. When we arrived at berth 93 at LA we handed our cases to the porter and next time we saw them they were safely stored outside our cabin. We had a balcony stateroom R342 which whilst not being the biggest room we've ever stayed in it suited us fine. Our porter was a lovely guy called Donato who couldn't do enough for us. Overall the staff onboard were absolutely superb always helpful always available.

Before we went on this cruise i read a lot of reviews on this site criticising the food but we found the food ranged from very good to superb.. The entertainment on board tended to cater for the older people even though we are 57 we were among the younger element on board ! We used to go in the fusion bar in the evenings for the band and dj but most nights there was less than 10 people in there ! There was also a nightclub called skywalkers which looked amazing and we were really looking forward to going in there but every night we went in there was a couple of people reading books! What a letdown ! The band onboard were called Castaway who did 3 or 4 gigs a day all over the ship and they were brilliant.

We booked anytime dining which was a great decision I couldnt believe that people rushed to the dining rooms like robots for their 5.30 and 7.00 dinner and queued for ages! The restaurants were excellent we used Di Vinci and Leonardo for our formal evenings and the buffet style Horizon restaurant the rest of the time. We also paid $25 per person cover charge to go in the crown grill which was absolutely superb some of the best food I've ever tasted.. There was plenty of bars to use our drinks package card which was also a good decision when drinking expensive cocktails and shorts all evening. Read more
