This was our first trip with Celebrity and we truly enjoyed ourselves. We chose this trip because of the itinerary - St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Barbados, Dominica and St. Maarten - and it was during the Thanksgiving holiday. Our overall impression of the Celebrity experience is positive - this ship had some of the friendliest crew members we've encountered in a long time. Our cabin attendant, Faisal, was top-notch. He was extremely attentive and fulfilled every request in a timely manner. He set the tone each day with a wide smile and friendly greeting.

The ship itself is large but not so huge that you feel like an ant among thousands. The decor is sleek and minimalist with white curtains hanging in the shopping area. Modern art photos hung on stairway walls throughout the ship. The atrium was not "Wow!" but featured a huge multi-colored vase with a tree that shifted in the "wind." The public restrooms were modern and featured cloth and paper towels. They were always clean.

Our cabin, 7161, was comfortable with a slanted veranda. We didn't care for this as we could see directly into the veranda next to ours from cabin 7163 (I think). The veranda was directly over the huge lifeboats so the view wasn't the best, but the angle was interesting. Loved the sleek bathroom and glass shower. Very stylish.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

An open bus tour of island highlights lasted a couple of hours and was big fun. The driver blasted music and sang for most of the tour. He also gave history of the island at each stop. Big fun.

Barbados

We stayed in the Bridgetown area for a little shopping. We didn't want to tour since we'll be coming back next year for a week.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Port Everglades is a large terminal with helpful staff to direct you where you need to go to embark and disembark your ship. Haven't seen much of Fort Lauderdale except the airport and cruise port.

Dominica

The open bus tour was just so-so. The driver did not give us much history as we toured a small part of the island. We did go up into the mountains for spectacular views but the tour was disappointing overall.

St. Maarten

We've been here before so we took a taxi to the beach in town and took a water taxi back to the terminal. Beach was clean. We got two lounge chairs with umbrella and 6 drinks (beers) for $25. Good deal.
