This was our second cruise on the Reflection and the third with Celebrity. Overall, our 15th cruise and regret to inform you that Celebrity has lost its MOJO. As we are Florida residents, we drove down I95 on Saturday and arrived around 12:30 PM and did not have any problems entering the port. (thanks to the one billion dollar tunnel, it was a snap.) Just make sure you follow I395 East and then watch for the tunnel signage. Embarkation is very easy and took maybe 45 minutes or so.
Yes the Reflection is a gorgeous ship and she has been well maintained although she is becoming a little thread worn in the more public pathways such as the area close to Michael's, but not too bad yet. Very happy to report that those who smoke have been restricted to only a few areas of the ship and all can now enjoy the casino without gasping for breath. A welcome change.
Dining - have not noted any improvement here. Quite boring and probably a decline in quality. The steaks were very thin and less than ordinary. Still can't believe how hard the dining room staff work...more waiters should be hired. no complaints here. "Anytime" dining does not work for us. One still must get in line and wait for an available table or make daily reservations. On at least three days of our cruise, we dined in the "Oceanview" cafe were the food is surprisingly good. Very easy to find a nice quiet table to have a relaxing dinner. (TIP: take your own wine, you won't regret it.) Shocking how much markup there is on alcohol on-board. Expect to pay 35 to 45 dollars for a low quality wine which would cost 5 bucks or so at your local grocer. per drink, it was $8.50 up. And, of course, the drink package was pushed at every opportunity.
Very clean, but lots of noise from the theatre.
Liked the tour guide. Very knowledgeable. Did not need the stop for shopping though.
Walk up to the Fort. Very interesting.
Great port thanks to the good people of Miami and Florida.
