Just returned from a cruise to New Caledonia & Vanuatu - first time on Carnival. Have been on Radiance twice in 2014. Both are similar sizes so I decided to try to help anyone trying to decide. Would I go on either again - definitely. One caveat - It's been over 12 months since our last RCI cruise, and I am referring to our experiences from then.

Both are similar sizes - about 2,000 passengers.

Demographics - We are in our 50's and were travelling with teenagers on both lines, so have a perspective from two different angles.

Port Reviews

Mare

Bus trip to beautiful beach. Excellent snorkelling and swimming.

Mystery Island

Great place for a swim and water activities. Markets for souvenirs. Not expensive unless you go berserk at market

Noumea

Extension of Tchou Tchou Train. Not for wine buffs who would already know it all (and more) but good for everyday people who drink wine rather than let it consume them

Noumea

Excellent way to see sights of Noumea. Had been on a bus trip previously but this was a better experience (unless it's raining). Very informative guide
