This was my second NCL cruise and 12th cruise overall. This was a last minute, family getaway to allow our blended families to get to know each other over Thanksgiving. We had 11 in our group and had ages ranging from 4 to 80.
We stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay Thursday night which was very nice and convenient to the port.
We arrived at the port at 10:00AM. Half of our party were booked in Aft Suites so we first tried to check in at the VIP area but were told that wasn't for Suites guests. We then waited in a relatively short check in line. When the 2 parties in our group with suites got to the desk they were told they should have checked in with VIP and that their keys weren't at the main check in desk. This was just the first miscommunication of MANY that we encountered. After 30 minutes, we all had our keys and moved to the waiting area. We were told at 11:15 that boarding would begin in a few minutes but didn't get underway until 11:45ish.
Worn out cabin. Cracked lampshades, visibly worn furniture that was threadbare in places. Clean but very cramped cabin compared to other ships I've sailed on. Phone didn't work throughout the entire trip.
Booking a room at the Comfort Suites and then using the Atlantis facilities was a bargain compared to the NCL excursion price!
