I recently returned yesterday from a 7 night Mexican Riviera cruise aboard the Jewel from Los Angeles. I have been on over 25 cruises and this was probably the worst. The food was terrible and very disappointing in the free restaurants, seems they try to force you to upgrade and pay at the alternative ones. The Garden Cafe Buffet was very crowded and you have to get up for your own coffee or drinks with very small cups. If your already booked on this ship, I suggest you bring your own large mug.

Our cabin carpet was worn with stains on the carpet and the TV has limited channels , so if you want to watch a sporting event, your are forced to go to one of the bars where they want to to purchase drinks. Again to make money. You cannot hear any announcements in your stateroom.

If you like gaming I suggest avoiding the slots in the Casino. They have the worst payouts I have ever encountered. The table games have better odds. The Bingo is another ripoff. They charge 50 to 70 dollars to play and you only play 3 games with an average payout about $300 . All Bingo games are held in a bar with limited seating (again to try and sell you drinks. ) They use a computer to draw the numbers?
