This was our second cruise on the Carnival line, first on the Dream. After our experience on the Carnival Dream, we will never sail Carnival again. Food was sub-par. What was being served in the buffet was being served in the restaurant. Came back to the ship, at approx. 3:30 p.m., after a day in port to discover they were closing the buffet. Really, close the buffet when everyone is coming back from their outings?
Whatever limited entertainment was provided was all scheduled at the same time for the most part. Cruise director was pretty much a non-entity at the few shows we did catch. Not a party ship in any way, shape, or form. Cabins were ok, room service was so-so. Crew were the usual nodding/smiling types. We did dine in the Steak house, for an additional fee, and thankfully that was a fantastic experience.
It was a cabin, nothing spectacular. Cleaned daily for the most part.
Walked thru the port which had very aggressive shop keepers. Went down the road to a public beach which was pretty nice. Food/drink vendors as well as chair/snorkle rentals were available at the beach.
Shore excursions via the ship were very expensive. More than prior cruises. Took a taxi to Dead Man's Reef/Paradise Cove beach resort and had a fantastic time there. Quiet little spot with awesome water activities. Snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, etc.
Walked around Key West.
Nothing out of the ordinary
