We booked a cruise to Labadee, Haiti and Falmouth Jamaica through Royal Caribbean on the Independence of the Seas. The embarkation at the port was satisfactory with the best part being the covered parking garage which is located across the street from the ships, and cost $75.00 for the duration of our cruise. Once on board our bags arrived at our cabin (1302) in a timely fashion. Our room attendant was very customer service oriented and ensured we had everything that we needed or wanted on our arrival.

The food options on the independence were abundant from the main dining hall, Windjammer, and I have always enjoyed Johnny Rockets. Our seven year old son enjoyed the thirty foot rock climbing wall, flow rider, and child's splash zone area! The ship attendants were excellent at watching out for the younger guests on the rock wall and flow rider making their vacation as fun as the adults, without impeding on the adults activities.

I will keep the review short and say we had a fantastic time on the ship itself, and I would like to review the ports we visited. The first port we arrived at was Labadee Haiti. Upon our arrival we were able to disembark the ship with ease and walk down the dock to the beaches. This is a decent walk and don't forget to take your towels for the beach as this is a Royal Caribbean owned port of call. The beaches were nice and we all booked the aqua park excursion. We were allowed in the aqua park for an hour (trust me and hour will wear your rear end out). We had a blast and everything from the water trampolines to the "Icebergs" were a lot of fun! if you have children book this excursion for them and there were two lifeguards watching even through the participants had to wear life vests while in the park.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Our cabin was clean and well maintained. The views were amazing from the balcony and the size of the cabin was perfect for our family. Our room attendant was top notch and ensured we had everything we needed. He was not overbearing and was very polite.

Port Reviews

Labadee

Even though this excursion is only an hour long it will totally wear you out. It is a lot of fun and I thoroughly recommend having the children in your party try this on the water obstacle course and trampolines!

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Embarkation port was average.
