Another lovely cruise aboard MJ. I just love her. Not going to go through the whole cruise this review; I mainly wanted to address two subjects: The Drink Package and Tipping.
My Sail-Mate and I had purchased a drink package, but upon boarding, decided to upgrade to the Premium Package. The purchase of this package, which oddly included alcoholic beverages but *not* premium coffees and non-alcoholic drinks (I had mistakenly thought that each package included the package before it, PLUS -- not so. . .) made all the difference in the cruising experience for me.
I am not a big drinker, at all. But: what I really wasn't thinking about was, when you're *on vacation* and don't really have to be doing anything but just what you want to do, that "social drinker" status quickly becomes 4 or so beverages a day. At the regular prices onboard, plus the (18%?) added tipping which is automatically added to a regular purchase, the package quickly becomes a bargain.
Very pleased with the cabin. I had read a review on CC which spoke to an issue with the shower water not being hot enough in this very cabin. Well, that issue has been addressed, and then some. . .it was almost too hot!! The cabins on Deck 9 generally overlook the Life Boats, but this particular cabin overlooks a smaller "Rescue Boat," which doesn't impede the view as much. I really like Deck 9; I have had cabins on Decks 2, 5, 7 and 9 aboard MJ and prefer 9. Never have "sprung" for any cabin rated above, such as a Junior Suite, Grand Suite, or Owner's Suite, so can't speak to those.
