Sail Date: Jul 2015
Cabin: Concierge Class 3

First time on Celebrity, found the Eclipse was very good. Had a balcony in Concierge class and were very happy with the cabin. The food was excellent and the staff went out of their way to make sure everything went according to plan.

Only a couple of small concerns. It would have been nice to sit by the pool with an occasional swim, however it was school holiday season and the pool areas were crowded. My other concern was the cost of shore excursions. We enjoyed the entertainment, dining, information about each port visited and embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. We did not have access to the information on excursions until close to sailing and we were departing our home in Australia a week before departure. Therefore we made our own arrangements for tours in Berlin and St Petersburg, two cities were were keen to experience and did not wish to leave booking until on board the ship.

Concierge Class 3

Cabin C3

Clean and room was spacious with outside balcony. Two room attendants were unobtrusive and cleaned the room when it was vacant.

Port Reviews

Brugge (Bruges)

Walking tour of Bruges, could have spent a lot longer wandering around the streets and checking out the shops, most were closed as it was a Sunday.

Berlin

We booked a private tour company TJ Travel for our tour to Berlin and were very happy with the service, the guide and bus driver. It was a long day with travel to and from Berlin taking approx. 3 hours each way. A very informative tour.

Tallinn

We walked around and did our own thing here. Quite impressive city.

Helsinki

Again Helsinki was impressive. Mostly walked around, the port had a few shops which were great for those not wanting to venture too far.

St. Petersburg

Arranged our own excursion for this port as it was a two visit and we wanted to see everything we possibly could. It was an experience not to be forgotten, a city full of contrasts and impressive palaces and churches. Loved it, would visit again if not for the distance that divides us. We booked with TJ Travel in St Petersburg. I would recommend this company as highly efficient and knowledgeable about their particular city. They run excursions in all the Baltic cities and we found them to be fantastic, drivers knew where to park and pick up at the right time and were excellent drivers in some trying circumstances, guides were English speaking and explained the facts with some humour as well.

Stockholm

Again did our own travel here. Wanted to visit the Vasa Museum, which turned out to be impressive to say the least. Worth the time to visit this wonderful exhibit. An absolutely beautiful entrance to this city sailing through islands, would have been something spectacular in the winter. Must see if you are travelling to Stockholm.

Copenhagen

A very colourful and vibrant city, lots to see and do. Walked mostly, found a small shop with Hans Christian Anderson memorabilia along the canal, very impressive City, worth walking and taking in the sights.
