Everything about this cruise was great. The embarkation process was very smooth and effortless. The port personnel, the ship's crew, and the staff were all pleasant and efficient and a delight to be around. The food was great in the Rembrant dinning room as well as the Lido. The food at the Dive In and the Pizzeria were also great. The Pinnacle was fantastic. But the Tamarind was over the top! My son in law manages a restaurant in down town Houston and had made me the best lobster I had ever eaten; until the Tamarind. It was so good, my wife and I booked a second night there. Not only was the lobster spectacular, but the sushi, the soups, the appetizers, and my wife's shrimp dish were fantastic as well.
The nightly shows were better than shows in Vegas. The cooking and computer classes were well done and very informative.
We did have some excitement on the second night. The ship turned around and went to rescue 7 Cuban refugees on a raft in a storm. Three brave crew members went out in a motorized rubber dingy that held 6 people and made two trips while a lot of lightening and rain were coming down. True heroes. And Captain John Scott got us to Georgetown early the next morning.
Cozy but plenty of room for two. The balcony was very nice. Bed was very comfortable. TV in room had several information channels, bow cam, stern cam, several movie channels, and several news channels. We took advantage of the free DVD checkout at the Office and watched several movies on the DVD player in the room. Room service was quick, easy, and fantastic. Our cabin stewards, Nadi and Rulli were very friendly and each had a great sense of humor. The towel animals each night were a delight.
The embarkation process was very well done. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The process went fast and there was plenty of seating while waiting to board. The disembarkment process was just as well done. The only bottle neck was customs, but that went fast. The line for taxis outside was long but went fast. The only problem might be if it were raining as the line was outside.
