I haven't been a big Carnival fan until recently cruising on the Magic. I LOVED this ship for many reasons. 1. It smelled good. ya, I'm a smell freak and have been on ships that smelled like stale laundry, mold, sewer etc. It's got to be hard to keep a ship smelling good and they pulled it off. Thank you cleaning crew! 2. It was sparkly clean! Again, thank you cleaning crew! 3. Dr. E was, by far, the BEST cruise Director we have ever had. He had a great staff as well. They made the cruise so much fun. Someone in our group said, "I just want to follow him around because everywhere he goes, it will be fun." 4. The entire staff was kind, welcoming and helpful, not just the ones expecting a tip from us. Every time we passed ANY one of the crew, we were greeted with a smile and hello at the very least. They treated us like royalty. I saw nothing but perfect customer care the whole week. 5. SO much to do! Even though it rained most of the week, we were never bored. Everyone in our group became obsessed with winning one of those stupid ship trophies. It was hard to do with the rain forcing all the passengers inside, but most of us managed to win one anyway.

As great as it was, there were a few things that I didn't like: 1. Smoking areas near the doorways; and too many smoking areas. What's the point of a smoking area if the smoke blows inside every time the door opens? 2. Worse buffet food ever, but good specialty sections - deli, pizza, wok etc. You just had to wait in line. 3. I could tell they are cutting costs - no tablecloths most nights, limited utensils etc, but we got a good deal so I guess that's what we get for what we paid. I'm kind of a germ freak so I like tablecloths. Anyway, I was a very fun cruise! Thank You Carnival Magic Staff!
