Cabin: Aft-View Extended Balcony

This was our third trip on the Pride. Since the last trip, there have been upgrades to the pool areas, the casino, the Winner's Club bar, the Lido desk dining areas, etc. Another reviewer noted that there have been some minor changes to trim costs; the most noticeable being reduced operating hours for some of the buffets. Presumably they did this to hold the line on cabin prices, and if that's the case, the tradeoffs are reasonable. It was nice to see that they have reduced the price of internet access.

As always, the ship is clean, the staff is unfailingly cheerful and accommodating, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The dinners in the Normandie restaurant, always excellent in the past, were consistently outstanding on this trip. The kitchen and wait staff (especially our headwaiter Nevlin) both deserve an A+. Our cabin steward Felipe was always right there to take care of anything we needed.

I never detected any sewage smells or any other unpleasant odors, as mentioned by a couple of reviewers.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8M

Second time we've had an aft cabin on the Main (4th) deck, which is the lowest of the five levels that have aft cabins. When the ship is moving, there is always the noise from the wake so it's not exactly quiet on the balcony. When in bed, there's always a little vibration from being directly above the screws, which is kind of like when you're a kid lying across the back seat of a car on the highway. I love this but some people wouldn't. There were three adults in the cabin but it never felt crowded. The third person's bed is the sofa converted to a bed which was quite cozy and comfortable.
