Just returned from a week on the Star. Having read previous reviews prior to our vacation, I was not expecting much but I was more than pleasantly surprised. Anyone choosing to cruise instead of a single resort style destination vacation knows the experience is different. Not better, not worse, just different. Have the proper mind set going in and that helps set the tone for your holiday.
We had wonderful service on the Star and found the ship to be in great condition. Our cabin had a great hair dryer, plenty of hangers, nice bathrobes, good closet space and a very firm bed.
We preferred the speciality restaurants over the main dining rooms. Cagney's and La Cucina our fav! Breakfast at the main dining room Versailles was great and served with a smile, piping hot from the kitchen. It was easy to make dinner reservations and loved all the music available on the ship in the evening. Great wine selections and the bartenders have mastered the mojito :)
A little snug but well equipped. We liked the size of the bathroom! We loved our room steward too, so efficient.
The best food, instruction and fun.
Beach was paradise
A great relaxing close to the ship excursion
Warning A few sand fleas, bring bug spray
