We chose Alaska as our very first cruise and based on recommendations from friends and online reviews, we chose Celebrity Solstice. I did a lot of research before we booked the cruise and even more after – there was a lot to learn!

Based on advice given by others on the Cruise Critics board, we booked our cruise and took advantage of their additional onboard credit as well as Celebrity’s 1-2-3 Go promotion. Since we got a beverage package, two onboard ship credits and mandatory gratuities included, we upgraded to a slightly better cabin than we had originally budgeted for, which was 7228.

We flew to Seattle the day before departure and took a cab to the hotel - Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown and enjoyed some sightseeing and a wonderful dinner at the Sky City restaurant atop the Space Needle in celebration of our 34th anniversary. Read more
