The Good: new, clean ship with friendly, gracious staff. Very talented, gifted performers in both the shows, and string quartet. Plenty of storage/hangers in mini suite, along with full size bath tub, hot water/ good pressure. Traditional dining ok, but surcharge dining @ Sabatini far superior & you learned what you were missing! The gym was very well equipped with excellent Precor equipment and a nice offering of classes, albeit an up charge, ching ching.
Bears repeating: The entertainers in the shows were incredibly talented. In 5 cruises, I have to comment that these were some of the most talented singers and dancers I've ever seen. The actual shows (Bravo, Fiero) have little to no story line or consistent theme, however and were somewhat random. Sorry to say, heard this group of performers' contract is up after our 11/15 cruise. Not sure if the next batch can match the talent of these performers. Alfredo's was a nice, quiet alternative to buffet dining. Went twice and lunch of small, thin crust pizza and minestrone soup was much like the fare we tasted traveling in Italy. Highly recommend for the food and charming staff.
The Bad: poor communication overall on this ship. Staff did not seem clear on schedule or what & where ship was going. For example, a spa staff emphatically stated there was a Fiero show one night when in fact it was the following night. The daily newsletter improperly identified several ports of call our cruise was visiting. My mother in law complained her newsletter was never there until after breakfast. There was frequent commentary by passengers that not enough activities were planned for a ship of Regal's size, and my husband & I agree. In the main Atrium (Piazza) there was some piano, & guitar entertainment and a talented acrobatic couple, but actual entertainment engaging the passengers (that wasn't cheesy) seemed sparse. One nice exception was the Art History lecture which had a very knowledgeable, personable speaker who accomplished presenting a lot of information in about 45 minutes complete with slide show. Princess needs more of this type of offering. Not everyone wants to percolate in the cloudy, overcrowded pool.
Relatively quiet, teeny-weeny balcony. Nice TV (s) and full size sofa but so small two of us could not walk around coffee table in room, or around chairs, table on balcony.
Brought mom in law along. She stayed in standard interior room and seemed quite pleased with it. B425.
Crowded, costly for basically bus ride through interior of island. One stop at gift shop where items overpriced & owner not interested in bartering. Initial restaraunt stop ignored some passengers requests for drink order, catered to others. Later return for lunch, food was good. Our tour guide, Brian was a local and fun, engaging group.
Tiki beach, bus broke. Late getting there, crowded. Not as depicted in video of tour.
