We just arrived home from our cruise to Freeport and Nassau Bahamas on the Carnival Sensation. The staff were very friendly and really made the guests feel welcome. Every staff we came across seemed to enjoy their job and went out of their way to be helpful. One morning I was making a plate of food to take back to the room for my husband and a staff member insisted on carrying the plate back to the room for me. Our cabin steward was always welcoming and smiling. Overall we were happy with the cruise experience.
The only issue we experienced involved our shore excursion in Nassau. Prior to choosing our excursion to the 10 top sites in Nassau, I researched the details of the trip. I had previously been to some of the sites listed so from past experience I assumed there would be some level of walking involved. Not everyone realized the amount of walking required just to make it to the tour bus and after waiting for 45 minutes on the bus, we left for our excursion without an elderly man who couldn't make the walk. At some of the other stops on this excursion, we ended up waiting on people who made it back to the bus well after the designated meet time.
The cruise overall was a good experience. We will definitely be going again! It would be really great if fellow travelers respected the time of the tour guides and other cruisers. It would also be helpful to know the level of exercise or walking expected for each excursion and if a tour guide recognizes that someone may have an issue with the activity level, that they address the potential issue before the person heads out on the excursion.
We enjoyed activities offered on the ship: a comedian, free shots, and prize give-a-ways in the fun shops.
