- Joff Eaton's Progressive Quiz - funny man, really enjoyed this quiz.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D8

Nice modern cabin, lots of storage, nice bathroom, great shower. Let down by the poor TV channels on the TV. On last night suffered from a lot of noise in the room sounded like a jet plane taking off, finally realised it was the air con but not sure why did not have the noise problem until the last night.

Port Reviews

Southampton

1st time at Southampton, seemed okay but did not see a lot of it!

Gibraltar

Very disappointed, Gibraltar was not what we expected, run down and smelly. Mainly tacky shops, no easy transport via taxi to and from beaches. Only point of a trip here would be for cheap alcohol and perfume.

Cartagena (Colombia)

Beautiful town, really enjoyed browsing the shops on the main street of the town.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Private train was ok, quick and fairly straightforward journey into Rome.

Rome itself was lovely, but extremely disappointed that the Trevi fountain was undergoing restoration, guess it means I will have to go back again!

Florence (Livorno)

Pisa was definitely a site to behold but we needed a lot more time there, this trip gave us just under an hour.

Marseille

Visited Marseille on a Sunday so a lot of it was shut, but after walking about 15 mins down the main promenade found a lovely café selling cakes / sandwiches etc.

It was roughly opposite the end of the marketplace.

Seville

Nice place to shop, but be careful you don't get lost (like we did!) very small winding streets, no-one we spoke to new enough English to guide us back to the port, take a phrase book!

Lisbon

Took a bus to the Oceanario (aquarium), later found on the return trip would have been cheaper for the 4 of us to go there by taxi (under 8 Euros on the way back).

Enjoyed the aquarium, it was good size and well maintained. Also did the temporary exhibit.

Vigo

Small shopping mall right next to the port, some nice little shops including a jewellers with reasonably priced watches / earrings etc. A few souvenir shops selling mainly poor quality wares, but at the top of the hill and round the corner there is a nice little gift shop selling Santoro Gorjuss range - my daughter wanted to buy out the shop!
