Sailed inaugural transatlantic cruise to Miami. Embarkation just OK in Southampton. There was some confusion when calling guests to the counter & then reseating us & calling us again to embark. The ship had been on a short trip from Hamburg and had sat in port so NCL execs could spend a night on board, therefore some state rooms were not ready. Luggage arrived very slowly. Some staff seemed green, others very seasoned. We learned very quickly to ask for seasoned waiters in Manhattan Room. Lovely spot to dine but music was a bit loud for conversation. Food typical NCL fare. We had dining package & would not pay Ala Carte prices for privilege. Service in Le Bistro, excellent, La Cucina, slow service. Food not worth $80 ala Carte prices.
Buffet was well designed and didn't seem too crowded, but this ship was only 70% full. Lots of choices.
I had a special host due to dietary issues who was wonderful and attentive in dining rooms.
10202 port NOISY, something is sealed in the wall and clunks around. At least 2 other staterooms near us were moved. 13802 starboard was fine, very quiet. Mini suites are smaller on this ship. Bathroom size good but some have tub and shower, some just shower. Big sink, too big to be practical. Prefer more counter space. Storage tight, closet awkward to access. Decent hair dryer. Couch very low, no desk chair just an ottoman/end table combo.
