We cruised out of Singapore on Voyager for the 14 night relocation cruise to Sydney in October 2015.
I endorse everything that has been said about the embarkation process in Singapore – it was a complete shambles and everyone associated with it should be extremely embarrassed about how it was handled. Unfortunately many of the cruise passengers vented their anger at the young check-in staff (who are not employed by Royal Caribbean but by an agency), who just smiled and apologised - while the RC staff, the ones with the power to fix the situation, seemingly hid away so as not to cop any flack. Let’s hope that some lessons were learned and it won’t be repeated.
On the whole, once on board (after 4 hours of queueing!) we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. All the staff were fantastic, from our cabin attendant to our wait staff, to the bar staff. The activities crew did their best to amuse us, though some of the activities were a bit lame – especially the pizza eating contest and the equator crossing ceremony. I also think that Mitch and his staff badly underestimated the number of Aussies who like their trivia, or they would not have kept having it in the schooner bar where we could not fit. We really enjoyed all the headliner shows, but the RC singers and dancers left us a bit cold. The entertainers that performed around the ship, particularly in the Schooner Bar and Pig and Whistle, were also well appreciated.
