Before we even left they changed our ship (Atla) because of low water. You would think that they would have told us this was an on going problem for months and maybe more problems with the low water along the way. After repacking and a 4 hr. bus ride we got to the Jarl. Sure enough 2 days later they had to charter a private vessel to do the route our ship couldn't. I would have cancelled this trip had I known all these interruptions were going to take place. They tried to make it right but I really felt deceived.

The shore excursions were ok, some of the guides and Viking staff never did a head count after a bathroom or shopping break. The food was mediocre and no choices for complimentary wine at lunch or dinner. It was red, white or beer. You can also forget about a table for two, there aren't any. Each evening the cruise director would have a briefing which seemed like an eternity and would cover the next day shore excursions. This was totally unnecessary because the hand book they supplied covered everything. On both ships we had an odor of urine in our cabin, cleaning didn't help and it was more of a maintenance problem than cleaning. After cruising with Croisieurope, Celebrity, and Regent, Viking doesn't come close. I would never cruise with Viking again and certainly would not recommend them.
