The cattle line to check in was the first indication of a problem. It is a monumental task to check in 4900 people. We had a check in time of 12:30 and did not get on the boat until 2:30. There may have been a problem we were not aware of but there was no information given out. The workers were rude. There was not welcome aboard group at all. We are seasoned cruisers so we just went to our room and hit the chow line while waiting for the luggage.

The ship has too much customer capacity for the service capacity. I don't know what the ratio should be but it was obvious this ship fell short. The free style cruising that Norwegian boasts about is lost when you have to make reservations to see shows day in advance. The shows were good and worth seeing. The main theater was the smallest I have seen on any ship. The seats were so uncomfortable that my friends would not even come back to see the shows. The seats are just a bad design. The pivot for the bottom is too far forward so that it leans down and there is a piece of wood in the worst place. The only comfortable seating on the entire boat was in the casino. Go figure.

The menu was the exact same for all three dining rooms every night. This seemed odd since other cruises have some difference in menus between dining rooms. The food was nothing to rave about. I did not have the ability to have shrimp cocktail once during the entire cruise. I did not see lobster offered on any menu. The chocolate night was almost non-existent. I could not find bacon for the first three days at breakfast. It was also hard to find a seat.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom

The cabin was just an average inside cabin on the lowest level. The shower was a nice design and size. The remote did not work for the TV but the steward changed it out. We don't spend extra on the cabin because we don't plan to spend much time in it.
