Third time on the Queen Victoria and it gets better each time. Food, comfort and service all good. The condition and decoration of all areas was excellent. Reason for only 4 stars is that the music in the theatre is far too loud. I asked a number of other cruisers their opinion and they all agreed, several had brought special musical ear plugs which sound like an excellent idea but should not be neccessary. Apart from that the entertainment was excellent, pianists, harpist, string quartet, all very appropriate for the older traveller. The shows and theatre singers and dancers were also excellent spoilt only by the excessive volume distorting the sound. The excellent artistes bring the excessive volume in the theatre into sharp contrast.
On a more pleasant note I think the Cunard ethos attracts very nice people, to meet an unsociable person is very rare. The 4 hour 'Behind the scenes' at $120 was excellent value. I can understand why the Commodore prefers this ship (another very nice man by the way).
Staff are obviously trained to be welcoming and helpful, but not servile. The dress code is very much adhered to, which we very much like, if you want to wear jeans to dinner please do so, but on another ship. We will be going again, but after I buy some of those ear plugs.
A bit smaller than on say P&O, but perfectly adequate and immaculate. Comfortable queen bed. Enough storage space. Bijou but adequate shower room, if you want a bath you need to book a grill suite.
Very nice town to walk around
Spent all day in the Tio Pepe Bodega, which was very interesting but possibly a little overpriced. Our guide from the bus was a bit disorganised.
We know Malaga and are always happy just to go ashore, walk around and have a nice lunch in a Chiringuita by the beach. Malaga port are is very much improved from last time with dozens of small stalls and cafes.
A very interesting place with much to do, but we just walked for a couple of miles and then returned to the ship.
