Having been very disappointed with our QM2 cruise 2 years ago our expectations of Cunard were low. We were pleasantly surprised that in virtually all aspects this ship was good and it appeared to us that Cunard had got it's act together. The ship is beautiful with a great blend of Art Deco and early Cunard cruise style. Service was very good overall; in particular the staff in the Britannia dining room. Food was far superior to that on QM2 and virtually as good as Celebrity - our reference. The quantity, menu choice, flavour and presentation were all good.
The balcony cabin on Deck 6 was just right although the bathroom wasn't quite optimal with inadequate shelf layout, short towel rails and rounded towel hooks specially designed so the towels fall off! The main cabin area was very good. Tea in the Queens Room was very enjoyable with superb service. Evening entertainment was good overall but the sound was as always too loud with many complaining about it. Embarkation and dis-embarkation were fine. Shore activities were average and as usual over-priced. The theatre lectures were OK.
A sensible size for the price and a good layout. Comfortable King bed, good balcony, quiet, air-con quiet and working well. Lighting very good with rare lights over the bed so you could read easily. Bathroom design wasn't quite optimal for shelf layout etc.
Valet parking good and easy
Nothing special and a fairly poor town
It's a lovely, very interesting town
An interesting town with historical places to visit including the Fort on the hill
Our stay was short and we avoided the crowds in the Souk etc, but looked an interesting place to explore
The tram was noisy and the streets busy. The Hop on Bus tour might have been more useful overall
