This was our first Viking River cruise and it was fantastic. My husband and I were the very first guests to register on the Eir's maiden voyage - what a surprise to learn this when we boarded so very early that first morning. I must admit that I do not like being on the open water where I cannot see land - being able to see both shores was a definite plus. The entire trip was a moment out of time. Words cannot describe our experience; it was so special.
The crew could not have been more attentive; the cabin was excellent; the choice of excursions was varied; and the food was superb. We extended our experience by traveling on to Lucerne where we stayed at the Hotel Schweizerhof. A trip again to Switzerland is on our bucket list. There just was not enough time to do all that we wished to do. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the small number of other passengers - 200 versus 2000 or more. I could go on-and-on expressing our pleasure; but, will conclude with saying that we cannot wait to go again. The only problem is deciding which cruise to take next.
Very pleased - I loved the heated floor in the shower.
Although tired from our flight, the walking tour was a quick, "nutshell" view of the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
After our walking tour that included the Cathedral, we returned to the Cathedral for Easter Services. It was so inspiring to spend that special day at such an icon of Christianity. After lunch, we enjoyed touring the Lindt Chocolate Factory and Museum
Loved learning the city's history and seeing the storks.
