A repositioning cruise, it was our 2nd after a 3-night family cruise last summer on a Disney. We enjoyed the leisurely pace of this adventure, knowing we could have been busy every part of each day. Our port stateroom balcony was somewhat shaded for afternoons, and was the right spot for reading or napping. The room was cozy but had everything we needed, good storage. Food was generally good but we found the buffet area often crowded so discovered the sit-down breakfast and lunch option in Moderno (great view and quite) where we could order an omelet or pick up a pastry. Lunch offered soup, salad, sandwiches made up or make-your-own. Evening menus in the two restaurant-seating options had choices for appetizers, entrees and desserts.
The entertainment was good to superb and on such a long cruise the talent was replaced in ports for new shows nightly. The entire ship's crew made every effort to be pleasant and helpful and our room steward was very nice. The Cruise Director's staff was everywhere, full of enthusiasm and fun. Great bunch. There were way more older folks than children on this extended trip. Elevators were prompt, clean towels in the staterooms and by the pool, good service in the many bar areas. The Spinnaker Lounge was our go-to spot for daily Trivial Pursuit, evening entertainment/dancing or just a great place on the bow area to see the endless ocean. Did not use the casino -- too smokey.
A few glitches were the extended line for initial check-in, the focus on buying art, watches and jewels, and folks "holding" pool chaises for the day even when they were not nearby. Rude. Weather was very good. Constellations at night were awesome. This is not your option for high excitement, but if you want a great break from routine, you will enjoy the pace of this experience.
Cozy but comfortable. Nice storage options. Pressure cleaned the balcony in each port. Did not like the heavy comforter since it was too hot, and the bed skirt was not pristine upon arrival and was not replaced as we left, although we mentioned it. Laundry "special" was $20 for a small bag, so we planned to wash out undies and tees as needed. 17 days requires a lot of clothing so we were very happy to not have to dress up for dinner, although we saw quite a few heels and dresses and jackets. A drying line was already available in the shower. Hard-wired hair dryer was great.
Lovely city. Wish we had more time to explore.
Nice driver, hot day, old, old vehicle. Breathtaking views and stops for photos.
Walked into town and took pictures. Enjoyed the small boat regatta outside the harbor.
