I felt that reading this forum was pretty useful to help me prepare for this cruise, so I wanted to give back and share our thoughts! :) As a little background, we are a young married couple in our early 30s/late 20s without kids yet. This was a last-minute trip for us, and we were looking for a quick fun getaway. Since we only live about 30min away from the port, a cruise was the easiest thing to do. We have both been on other cruises in the past but this was our first Norwegian. As a point of reference, most of our comparisons would be against Royal Caribbean (since that is the one we have the most experience with).

To begin with, the ship is definitely a smaller ship but we found all the common areas to be clean and pleasant to look at. Perhaps not as highly themed and detailed as other, newer and bigger ships but we didn't feel particularly bothered by it. In fact, I thought it was a bit of a relief not to have to walk all the way across a really long floor just to get to our cabin every time...from anywhere in the ship, a quick elevator ride (or a few flights of stairs) with a short trip forward and there was our cabin!

Speaking of cabin...it was definitely on the smaller side compared to other ships. I did see this mentioned on this online forum so I was prepared for it, therefore we weren't too shocked. We had an oceanview porthole and our bed was a combination of 2 beds to make the queen size. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the bedding was! Although the cabin was small I was able to put away all of our clothes and personal items and put the luggage along the wall and still have enough room to move around without too many issues. The bathroom had plenty of shelves on the wall for our toiletries, and the shower stall was small but the water pressure was great. We had nice hot water every single time except once, and even then it was lukewarm. I didn't ever see our cabin steward, but for such a short little trip it really didn't bother us at all. Our room was cleaned every day, twice a day, as on all other ships and we had our dirty towels replaced without issues. So it was just fine for us!
