After some negative comments on previous reviews we were pleasantly surprised at our Oosterdam experience. The ship may now be 'older' but it has been renovated and we found the décor and layout comparable if not better than some other cruise lines used (Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, NCL). Embarkation was efficient and relatively painless. Food in the main dining room was consistently good with plenty of choice. We used anytime dining which worked well on most nights with only 1 or 2 waits of 10 - 15 minutes.

Entertainment was generally of a high standard, with the Oosterdam singers and dancers, a magician and an American comedian all giving excellent performances.

Most sea days were spent on deck as weather was fine - only complaints would be lack of shade when required and unnecessarily loud music around pool on sea deck.
