I am Diamond level with Royal Caribbean and I have seen a fairly steady deterioration in the quality of service and staff attitudes over the past 12-18 months. My recent cruise to Mexico on the Brilliance is another fine example of the issues created when you reduce staff but don't give them the tools to be more efficient. We were in a suite and as a result didn't see the same issue with stateroom attendants or concierge staff, they were, as always, exceptional. However, the Windjammer was horrible. The staff was responsible for not only serving the food but cleaning the area and restocking the buffets. They were clearly not able to get all of this done and as a result the service suffered.
We ate in Izumi, an a la carte restaurant, and were very impressed with the food, service and prices. Exceptional service from very competent servers. We also ate at the Chef's Table, another additional fee event, and enjoyed the food and service here as well.
While I am still a fan of RCL I was disappointed in the overall service in general areas. The areas that had an extra charge delivered on service but the other areas shouldn't suffer as they have.
Nice cabin but BE AWARE that the suite next to this one has a balcony that looks almost directly into this suite. A little unnerving.
Fun place to visit
Easy parking and access to the ship.
