This was my wife and I 24th cruise overall and 13 with RCL in fact this cruise made us Diamond. We have enjoyed RCL through the years however there seems to be a growing trend of lack of loyalty and consistancy on their part. I understand the lines desire to lure younger age passengers and suite guest, i.e. Let's do away with the staple Viking Crown lounge and make suite restaurant. That's fine the ship is a money maker and every square inch has to produce as such. But I just want to put a few things out that really hurts RCL customer service IMO. First it used to be you could get WOW cards to recognize an employee just about anywhere on the ship. You would get it then write down the employee name and what they had done to be recognized for their "gold anchor service". Then simply put the card in a mail drop at guest services. Well through the years this simple process has become such a daunting task I doubt we will do it anymore. We have been told on previous cruises the following, --while at port check in,,"get it on the ship" --while at guest service,"you get it from the port check in agent. We have been told from guest services,"you have to give it to the employee you are recognizing". Now if this is an employee that you seen once and was exceptional how do I find him/her on a ship with 6000 guest and 2100 crew.

Then on previous RCL cruise we have heard the song living next door to Alice, it's a crowd pleaser in the pub in this case the Globe and Atlas. We have requested it on RCL cruises and NEVER had an issue. We took our 2 grown children their spouses and 2 friends joined us for their very first cruise. So wanting to give them the same enjoyment we have had at midnight we gave the guitar man $5.00 and requested the song. At 12:30 am I returned and asked him when he would get around to the song, his reply was he could not play it due to children around. I looked around and saw no children then I exited globe and atlas and did not see any children. I returned to him and advised him the area was clear from any children. He then told me he "had to clear the song through the cruise director".

What? It's 12:30 in the morning in a bar on a cruise ship. I also attended and participated in the Quest which loyal to Royal folks know is the very rowdy adult scavenger hunt that the cruis director emcees. I doubt very seriously after seeing him emcee the quest that he had issues with a song requested by 8 guest in a bar after midnight. We never heard the song we only have heard and know from RCL cruises. Then the bar staff were also on some nights and off others. I understand everyone is going to have off days/nights but it was very strange with this crew on Oasis of the seas. 5of us had premium drink packages. We pretty much used boleros globe and atlas and the on air bars. Service in globe was very slow each time. The on air bar was quick some nights then others with only 6 or 7 guest inside it literally took 10-15 minutes to order a cocktail. Boleros times were consistent but one night Ernesto was great others he acted like he didn't even want to know you Alejandro the other boleros bartender was the same way. Very hit or miss.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Cabin was clean and avg size for balcony cabin. Kirk our cabin attendant was awesome. He assisted on getting my suit pressed for first formal night. A/c could have been cooler. It seemed like the cabin only cooled in late evening.
