The best thing about MSC Splendida is the crystal staircases in the main atrium.

Otherwise, in my opinion, corporate policy for this cruise line needs a serious overhaul. The ship seems poorly managed and directives from the top down appear to be missing. Most of the young people working on board try to do the job cheerfully, but proper training appears to be lacking, or training looks as if it is missing or inadequate, and there appears to be no leadership provided by those in charge. We ran into instances where customer service was seriously lacking in that the staff was rude, arrogant, argumentative, and appeared to think that “the customer is always wrong”.

The company also needs to address the lack of some basic rules on board ship and lack of consideration for paying customers. For example, who is responsible for kids running and yelling in the hallways at midnight? Who is responsible for groups of teens screaming by the elevators at 2:15 a.m.? Who monitors things when fights break out in the casino or bars? Where is security in all this? Why should we be awoken at 2 a.m. and have to call security?

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

OK. Closets not as spacious as other cruise lines, but OK. Noise from people gathering at elevators at 2:15 a.m. a bit much. Kids running in hall at midnight not appreciated.
