We took the Dawn out of Boston this summer to Bermuda. That was the great part, we had a short distance to travel to get there. However, at the terminal I had to hand off my bags to a worker and my son asked if we should tip him. I was in a rush, so I said,"no, he just put it on a cart." Another worker was standing there and said "if you want to see your bag again, you better tip him". Unfortunately I smiled and kept going. Well guess whose bag didn't come to the room. After 3 calls to the front desk, they said they were still sorting luggage. Everyone elses bags had been delivered. I finally got fed up, went to the front desk and insisted on going to the room with the "extra luggage." There was my bag with the tags ripped off. Ok I should have tipped him.

Next came the bar fiasco. I had gone online and gotten my son the drink package before we left. I printed out the receipt. When we got on the ship he didn't have a symbol on his room key that he could get free drinks. We spent the first day going back and forth to the front desk who did absolutely nothing for us.They called our bank and it was Saturday so the bank was closed. The head front desk guy gave me the option of paying again for the drink package or not at all. I also discovered the first day that the dining package we were supposed to get was not given to us either. This was not a good start to the cruise. We are platinum members of the latitudes club meaning we have cruised numerous times with Norwegian. Obviously we have enjoyed our previous cruises enough to keep coming back.

When we got to Bermuda they were preparing the ship each day for dry dock later this year. What that meant was they were drilling and sanding and banging everyday. I called the front desk because we could not stand to go out on our balcony. Honestly it was like being in the dentists office with drills going. Things fell off the roof into the water below and part of the ceiling fell down. The front desk would only say they were aware of the noise. I can't tell you how many times I had to go to the front desk or how many times I had to call them.
