Initial check-in operations were satisfactory and, albeit crowded, the management personnel of the process re-directed traffic to drive the efficiency of the process for the passengers awaiting to check-in. Upon boarding the ship, we were very impressed with the expanse and facilities on the Royal Promenade.
Allowing for staterooms to be immediately available upon boarding was very nice (boarded at approximately 2:30pm) especially with a family and baggage. Upon entering the stateroom, it had somewhat of a urine odor, however we decided to dismiss it initially due to being in port and all of the activity taking place. Of our three checked bags, only two arrived timely and we needed to wait beyond our dinner time -- and having already set sail -- to receive the bag containing our children's clothes. Our stateroom attendant, O'neil, was attentive to this issue once it known to him. Nonetheless it caused for mild inconvenience and unnecessary worry as to whether or not we would receive this bag or if it was left behind.
The host that sat us the first night of the cruise walked us all around the dining room as he was not sure of the table location -- somewhat inconvenient. The waiter that night of the cruise was pleasant, but pushy when it came to ordering food for our children (we sat at Table #279). By pushy I mean, we ordered our childrens' food and were told that would be too much so he was going to bring what was appropriate for them so as to not over-order. Subsequent evenings we sat at Table #274 and Table #275 with server Mischell and assistant server Zimroy. These two as a team re-imaged our dining room experience as they were attentive to our schedule and palates. Mischell and Zimroy should be applauded for upholding a profound level of customer service.
No towels available on land. Pushy tenants at shops at port.
Plenty to see and experience. Overall a nice port.
Long check-in lines, but personnel were efficient in managing crowd.
The choice is yours. Just given the age of our children, spending beach time and pool time is more conducive to a good time.
