Recently returned from the 5-day Caribbean Sampler on the Regal Princess, Nov 3-8 sailing. This was my 5th Princess Cruise and the Regal is now my favorite Princess Ship (so far). My BFF joined me on this sailing. We met in FLL two days early (Nov 1) and had a pleasant two-night stay at the Westin Fort Lauderdale (across from the beach). Speaking of the beach - this was my 3rd time in FLL - but first time on the beach. I usually stay closer to the cruise port, however I highly recommend at least visiting the beach if you have time. We thoroughly enjoyed the nice wide, clean, palm tree lined expanse of powdery sand. Shops and restaurants were nearby, including a huge CVS. Los Olas Blvd., great for shopping & dining, was a short Uber ride away. Speaking of Uber - it's now offered in FLL and we used the service to get everywhere and to/from Port Everglades on cruise day!

EMBARKATION:

Was smooth as always has been for me with Princess from Port Everglades (my favorite Port). Although I still haven't seen the real benefit of Priority Boarding for Platinum/Elite members, I thought it would be more expedited than it was. But with that many passengers...I thought the process was smooth & efficient as it could have been.

Balcony

Cabin BB

Nice location - very quiet. Not too far from forward staircase that went to all levels.

Port Reviews

Princess Cays

Tender is required at Princess Cays. Once there, it's nicely laid out - with lots of activities, beach area & beach chairs, food and bars.

Grand Turk

Was able to walk off ship at Grand Turk. Biggest attraction there was the Margaritaville which has several bars, a huge swimming pool, private cabanas and a Flow Rider and the Duty Free store you have to walk through.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Port Everglades is an efficient and fun port to cruise from. Have departed here when eight ships embarked and departed around same time...even then it was very efficient! The Port Everglades webcam is a fun feature - allowing family/friends not with you to watch you and your ship sail away!
