Explorer of the Seas Review

We went on the repositioning trip consisting of four cruises from Southampton to Fremantle. This was a 42 day cruise from October 2, 2015 to November 13, 2015.

Explorer has a lot going for it. The ship looks great, the décor and finish is good quality. Our stateroom 2292, although at the lowest level, was of a good standard with ample room and the bed was good. The evening shows were a real highlight with class acts including the song and dance team, the Explorer Orchestra and various individual artists of a high quality. Two comedians early in the cruise were of poor quality. The food was of a high standard although the menus were repeated and the formal nights did not feature different menus. Another highlight was the ice show. Explorer has a large ice rink with about 700 seats to watch the show. There were several Olympic standard skaters and the show was outstanding. The Cruise Director, Graham Seymour, was absolutely brilliant. He added a level of humour and great organisation to all the events and programmes. The rest of his team were also exceptional.
