Here's a little info about our Haven experience. As a group of 5 in our 60s, we had 3 suites. We have all stayed in suites previously but never before at the Haven level. We found our suites to be smaller overall. Storage was good but spread about the room and lacking woefully in the master bath of the 2BFS we had. Balconies were tiny with barely enough room for 2 chairs. The private bar, restaurant, pool, sundecks and courtyard were fantastic. There were lots of open and shady seating options spread about the 2 level courtyard. Spa treatment spaces within the Haven enclave were also available.

Staff were very attentive and professional. The butler brought snacks each afternoon and tailored them to specific requests. The concierge was always available in an office area on deck 16. He and his assistant did a wonderful job managing reservations to all the restaurants, shows and entertainment and providing priority escort at each port stop. With his help, we obtained all our reservations on the days and times we wanted. All of us loved our Haven experience and would definitely repeat it. From our point of view, the Haven offered the only tranquil and intimate spaces onboard.

The Getaway is a good ship and has a lot to offer especially for the sun and pool lovers. There are lots of bars in different settings and ample dining options. Entertainment options were fair-good. The "Burn the Floor"dance show was fantastic, but the "Legally Blonde" productions was a shrill and annoying performance to us. Several people left before it was finished. Comics were good, as were the dueling piano performers. The casino is good size and has a nonsmoking bar and gaming area which was strictly enforced. Food was excellent in Le Bistro, not so good in Cagney's and mostly good in MDRs.

Cabin Review

The Haven 2-Bedroom Family Villa with Balcony

Cabin H4

Located in a very quiet section of the Haven but most convenient to the restaurant, bar and courtyard. Smaller than the same suite on the Star or Jade, for example. Lots of good storage spread about the room, but the master bath lacked counter space or enough storage. There was a single deep drawer beneath each sink with a towel rack placed above. Every time you were in/out of the drawer, the towel got hung up. Counter was also very low with elevated sinks that caused the usual floor splatter. Aesthetics were pleasing across the suite but not always comfortable or functional. Children's bedroom and bath were very nice and functional. Very small balcony. Despite the flaws from our point of view, we would do it again.
