Embarkment was smooth as I have always found it to be in San Diego. Must be a little overwhelming to those taking their first cruise but it was well organized and we were lucky and got zone 1 which is the 3rd group to go on board. Was on the ship by 12:15 p.m.

Lovely room number 7299 with extended balcony. Right next to the elevator but never heard a thing.

Crew was mostly different that our last cruise on the Spirit. Not as friendly generally speaking but polite. Our room stewart and his helper with both very nice and did a great job. Our dinner waiter was polite but not was we were use to and he was efficient so we were happy. He had been with Carnival 15 years so maybe he was just burned out. The food was wonderful as usual. We used every means of dining available. Empire dining room 3 times for dinner, three times for breakfast, also used the Lido deck dining, room service and continental breakfast menu also 2 times. Loved the soft serve ice cream and pizza. Both were great as usual and the sandwiches, salads, and everything were wonderful.
