Here is our review of our 5 day cruise that went to Key West and Nassau out of Jacksonville. This was the fifth cruise for me and my husband and fourth with Carnival. We went with another couple who were first time cruisers. It was a fun trip!

Embarkation: We flew into Jacksonville the day before and stayed at the Omni. The hotel was very nice, but there wasn't much around us in Jacksonville. It was about a $35 cab ride from the airport to the hotel and the only thing around was a complex of restaurants and stores called The Landing, which was right across from the hotel. The next morning we took a taxi to the port and it was about $30 for that. We got to the port a little before 11 and there were already a lot of people there waiting to board. Check in was fine, but there were long lines and not many chairs available as there have been in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. It wasn't as organized as previous embarkations. We boarded the ship by noon and had lunch on Lido. Our rooms were ready by 1:30—oceanview rooms on the upper deck, front of the ship. The muster drill was quick and inside only because it had started to rain. So, the sail-away party wasn't really a party. It was really chilly (in the 50's, windy and raining) so we had to keep going in and out to take pictures really quickly as we approached the bridge. We did get a few decent shots of the tail clearing the bridge, but not much in the way of scenery otherwise.

Room/Ship: Room was standard oceanview. Robes were provided and there was the usual amount of storage space. Our room steward was Roderick and he introduced himself shortly after we got to our room and did a great job throughout the cruise. There was a flat screen TV and the usual very comfortable bedding. We were on deck 6, so it was only a couple of flights up to the stores, bars, etc. and pretty quiet.
