A little about ourselves, married couple, early sixties, full of life and fun, get up early and stay up late-----usually.This was our 18th cruise having sailed with NCL, rcl, p@0, carnival, princess and celebrity. This was our first time on a premium line. Embarkation was fine as was disembarkation. Our stateroom was a balcony cabin on deck seven and was very nice, lots of hanging space, Bulgaria toiletries and very comfortable bedding. Nothing spectacular but very nice as have most of our staterooms have been on previous cruises.

Public rooms---- the ship and its public rooms was beautifully appointed with lots of fine furniture, no plastic here, just what you would imagine a luxury line to be like. Food and beverages------- The best food at sea? I don't know about that but certainly the best we have had, but then we have had no complaints about food on any ship although the quality has definitely gone down since we first started cruising. The drinks were more expensive, with a limited selection of beer although a nice touch was complimentary soft drinks and juices. Bar service was impeccable, a bonus here being served almost immediately due to there being only 700 passengers. Another plus for us was the country casual approach to ones attire, suited us fine. Fellow guests-----again this was a pleasant change for us, mostly mature well travelled interesting people, no yobbish or drunken behaviour which you can get on the other lines. incidentally before anyone calls us snobs my wife and I were brought up on a rough as they come council estate where steak, cars and holidays were what the other people had.

Shore excursions-----we only done one which couldn't really go wrong and didn't, however it would be remiss of me not to mention the cost. As one reviewer put it the cost of the excursions are the stuff of legends, need I say more! Entertainment-------this for us is the only reason we would not cruise with oceania again. Quite simply it was absolutely dire with very few exceptions. It was without doubt the worst we have ever seen on a cruise and we were shocked. We expected the entertainment to be limited due to the size of the ship and nature of the itinerary (late port times and overnights) but the quality, dear me the quality! This was a major let down for us and has made us think twice about cruising with an alternative luxury line. We may try seven seas in the near future to see if it's any better. In summing up this cruise had a great itinerary, great food, superb staff and a few other nice touches so if evening entertainment doesn't concern you then this line might suit you.
