My review of Liberty of the Seas... January 31-February 7, 2009 Eastern Caribbean Overall - GREAT experience, BEAUTIFUL ship, not so great weather (would not book this time of year again. 1 great day, 2 okay days, the rest not so great days if you are expecting a "Caribbean-tropical-beach experience"), great people, pretty good food and entertainment, etc. Details below...

I bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend (I am 27 yrs old, he is 29 yrs old), so kept it a secret from him for 6 months (nearly impossible!!). This was his first cruise and my 5th - my 4th with Royal Caribbean. The day seemed to come so slowly, but then it ended up getting here fast the last 2 weeks before we left. Here's my opinion of everything....

We live in Jacksonville, FL (6 hrs drive to Miami), so went down Friday afternoon and stayed with a friend who was kind enough to bring us to the port so we did not have to leave our car there. We arrived at the port at about 10:45am (I actually wanted to get there a little earlier than that, just to be sure we got on first and didn't have to wait in a long line!!), and were on the boat in no longer than 30 minutes. It was incredibly smooth and very impressive. Did not wait in lines at all. Got our seapass, and were on the ship very quickly. Of course our rooms weren't ready until 1pm which was fine, we had lots of exploring to do! Oh- A tip I read from these boards which was nice was to take the stairs all the time... I think out of 7 nights we only used the elevators 3 times total. They were pretty busy, but we really just didn't want to bother... and wanted to try not to gain THAT much weight since we did plan on enjoying our eating and drinking!
