We just sailed on this ship last week (11/1/15) and its certainly our last time on the Breakaway. I really don't even know where to begin. I'll start with the supervisor of the Splash Kids Academy. We have kids in our group in different age brackets and we requested that they all be kept together so certain kids don't get left out. I spoke with him a couple of times and in all my years of cruising, I haven't come across someone who isn't interested in helping out to make a better experience. His exact words were, "This is our policy. I know Im the bad guy, but I will not do anything on this matter". Pretty much the opposite reaction I would have gotten on Disney CL or Royal Caribbean. Needless to say one of the things our kids were most looking forward to, the kids club, was something they could only use during free play, which is only in one our windows twice per day.

My next issue was the bar situation. Is it really necessary to only have two bartenders per bar and have people literally waiting 20 minutes to order one drink? Seriously? Ordering drinks at any bar on the ship was a complete hassle.

So we get to Great Stirrup Cay and only three tenders got off the boat because it was too rough and windy, so they cancelled the island and brought everyone back. I certainly get it that safety comes first and I don't fault the captain for canceling that. What I do fault is Norwegian Cruise Line for not having a pier there for the ship to dock at so this doesn't happen. It should be noted that I later found out that this happens all the time. Hey NCL, do you know one of the many reasons why Disney CL is so much better? THEY HAVE A PIER AT THEIR ISLAND AND THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN THERE. Even during the captain's Q&A he expressed that they don't have one because of cost. So we only had three stops to begin with and now it was cut down to two stops on a 7 night cruise.
