Well, Celebrity did it again -

We were booked to Israel and unfortunately, due to security concerns, Celebrity needed to change the itinerary...well - they did so with panache. While we were still disappointed with the modification, we certainly could not blame Celebrity for global politics.

The overnight in Jerusalem was replaced with an overnight in Athens, and they replaced a few sea days to make this itinerary packed with fabulous ports. A 12 night cruise with only 2 days at sea - extraordinary!!!

Port Reviews

Istanbul

Istanbul is truly magical - we decided to book a private tour with VIATOR - and it was flawless - all tickets were pre purchased for us and we were escorted to all of the main attractions in the city - fabulous!

Kusadasi

We booked our day through VIATOR and had a private tour of Ephesus, Miletus and Didyma - DO NOT MISS - best sites we have seen yet!

Rhodes

Wonderful town to walk around - take your time - amazing old synagogue and walkng the city walls was fabulous!

Watch out for restaurants selling you the giant boot of beer - it's 18 Euros - otherwise - the food and sites are awesome.

Taormina (Messina)

There are not enough words to describe how lovely Taormina is - the old Greco-Roman Theater that overlooks this clifftop town - unbelievable.

We just took the transfer to the town and walked around on our own - very romantic - food and wine superb.

Naples

Love Naples port - easy to maneuver and get to anywhere you want.

Just take the local bus 151 to the train station and you are in Sorrento, Pompeii, and Herculaneum in a matter of moments. It is also an interesting excursion in itself to people watch on this public train LOLOLOL

We went to Herculaneum first thing off the ship and spent hours there - amazing how complete the ruins are - frescoes, statues, second floors on homes, far more complete than Pompeii - and Pompeii is awesome...It took about a half hour on the train to get there.

Then we took the train another half hour to Sorrento - walked around, had some gelato, did a bit of shopping, and headed back to the port via the Sorrento/Naples ferry. That took about a half hour and dropped us off within sight of our ship!
