Sail Date: Nov 2015
Cabin: Large Interior Stateroom

We have waited years to sail on Allure ... the prices have increased rather than decreased so we took advantage of a two-night Getaway sail that was available this past weekend just so we could finally see the ship!

Cabin: We were on a budget so we booked an inside gaurantee and ended up on Deck 3. The cabin was spacious, plenty of storage, clean, convenient to elevators and the steward was friendly. Only complaints would be terrible English-language options on the TV and no ice bucket (we requested one but never received it). Bed and pillows were comfortable, nice space between couch and desk area.

Dining: Windjammer was significantly better than it's ever been on previous RCCL sailings. Nice international variety, laid out well for crowd disbursement, plenty of seating, the bread pudding with vanilla sauce was wonderful! We had dinners in the Silk dining room. The decor was lovely, very comfortable, but service was disappointing (especially since the room was only half-full). Steak was a poor cut and inedible because it was practically raw despite requesting a medium cook. First night, waiter forgot to bring appetizers. Iced tea was served without ice, had to request a separate glass of ice. The staff had just ended a transatlantic cruise and was preparing to begin a schedule of 7-day sailings out of Ft. Lauderdale. So, maybe we made a poor decision booking the little 2-night getaway. Everyone seemed tired and unenthused and anxious to just get the job done ... when dessert was brought to the table, they literally cleared every single thing off of the tabletop (salt, pepper, candle, water glasses -- everything) we were at a table of 10 and there were ten dessert plates, ten forks and a couple of coffee cups left. Then the waiter disappeared. Felt very rushed and awkward. Hot Dogs on the boardwalk were good and a nice novelty.

Cabin Review

Large Interior Stateroom

Pros: Comfortable, spacious, plenty of storage and lighting, hot water, clean.

Cons: Very limited English-language channels on TV, no satellite available for US sports fans (you have to purchase the Wi-Fi for $30/day if you want to see your football games), no ice bucket, wine bottles don't fit upright in the fridge.
