Having sailed the Royal Princess which was the first in the new design which is also on the Regal Princess, I just had to sail the Regal. We are seniors who have done some 50 previous cruises. My jaw dropped when I first saw the design on the Royal. I knew at that time I had to experience it again, but better on a newer ship like the Regal. If they make a third one of this design I will probably go on that one too. The "Piazza" (AKA the atrium) is beautiful. It is 50% larger than the previous designed ships of Princess. To say it is elegant is an understatement.

Another thing that surpassed our past cruises was the buffet. It is actually two buffets in one. The Horizon Court and the Horizon Bistro. There are more sweets in the desert area than anyone can eat.

As for the shows, we enjoyed a few of them but shied away from the "louder" ones because of sensitive hearing. But that's just us and not a comment on the shows.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BC

Cabin was neat and clean, but very basic. No sofa or extras. However since it was October we did not spend much time on the balcony or even in the room. When things were quiet we sat in the beautiful piazza.

Port Reviews

Newport

We walked around on our own seeing all the mansions.
