We have just returned from this cruise and apart from a few minor niggles I cannot recommend this cruise highly enough. I will start with the niggles.

Rome airport was horrendous and we did not get our luggage until late evening, even though we arrived midday. One of the passengers aboard was particularly offensive towards our two year old grandson who was dancing at the edge of the dance floor with me. We had water leaking through our bathroom lights for two days and a jobs worth at security in Barcelona broke my grandsons buggy, proving a point.

You may be wondering why I rated the cruise excellent. All these niggles were dealt with and sorted out by courteous staff. When I complained about the incident on the dance floor, chocolate dipped, strawberries and fruit were sent to the stateroom for the grandchildren. The children's facilities on board were superb, given the children were only one and two. Each evening they would prepare special food for the children and the two year old loved the freshly made pizza. What made this cruise really special for the whole family was the treatment the children received from all members of staff. Our one year old granddaughter boarded a shy child and left a confident, happy child. I cannot recommend Cunard enough, especially for families travelling with young children.

Port Reviews

Florence (Livorno)

Tour proved a good introduction to the key sites, followed by enough time to relax and enjoy a coffee and cake.

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

Great for an F1 fan, Aquarium fascinating for children of all ages. Easy to walk round and enjoy the astounding yachts moored in the Marina.

Barcelona

City tour a big disappointment, rude tourist staff on the city bus tour who made it as difficult as possible to travel with my two grandchildren in buggies. Delighted to get back onboard to helpful crew members. Customs staff who insisted in forcing our child's buggy through the scanner, breaking it in the process and then suddenly losing the ability to understand English.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Seriously ugly docking site.
