Getting on was a nightmare. I have cruised many times from Southampton and never has I experienced such disarray. I am mobility impaired following an accident 2 years ago. Although I can walk boarding and un-boarding are a problem and my insurance provider will only cover if I have assistance. I was second in the area provided for people needing assistance and second to leave some 3 hours later I phoned NCL and asked them to get the disabled people on board as they were getting distressed. This was after I had insisted that a gent, who was first in there, went on board before me.

I have sailed in the past with Cunard, Celebrity, Island and Thomson. All have offered a different product and if your looking to replicate those types of ships experience, you should never go on anything else. I refuse to compare Epic with them as it definitely offering a something different. Its a big ship and the first afternoon it was chaos. No one new where to go so the crew sent them to the lido type restaurant and it was good. Not fancy but good quality and very edible. In fact the food in general all over the ship was a good standard. If I could recommend anything it would be to buy the speciality dinner package, my favourites were the Italian and Brazilian restaurant. Go to O'sheehans for lunch. the chicken wings are fab.

All the bars were good but sometimes you may have to wait for a Table. Don't forget, you don't have to stand at the bar to get served. There are waiters everywhere. The staff, what can I say, great, thats where I would compare to other lines. The staff on all ships are fantastic, if you find other wise, complain and get it sorted. We never got to see all the entertainment, theres a lot of it. We did see however the duelling piano's, they were great, real good toe tappin fun. The night club, pretty much open all night. Great fun.

Southampton

ok. sailed from here stayed at the Jurys inn. Will not stay here again. Awful. Cold, smelly had to move room. Requested a non smoke room, and given a smokers room. When we asked for another the desk said no other rooms were available but 10 minutes later asked which room we would like. We chose another rubbish room and sat up all night.
