We cruised RCCL about 20 years ago 4 cruises. Since then several other lines and Carnival 41 cruises. So we are a bit knowledgeable. We decided to try RCCL again and see how it is now. We had high expectations because of the wonderful experience we had many years ago. Getting on board was easy. We knew that the state room was smaller than almost all Carnival state room (About 30 sq. ft.) so we did expect it. We did not however expect an old, I mean old mattress. It was sagging in the middle on both sides . All that was left of it was hardness. The mattress was also a very thin one just sitting a platform. If you have never cruised with Carnival it is about time you did. You will understand where we are coming from. TOP quality on Carnival.

In the very late evening before bed, my wife likes her network TV. Well no network channels at all. Zip! A new season of a show she loves had its first episode Friday evening. Not there. You did not want to hear her. Bed was never turned down as on Carnival.

We do the buffets no longer the dining room. So I cannot comment about the dining rooms. The first lunch was excellent (Instant mashed potatoes, Carnival real and cheesy) Very disappointing. However everything else was excellent. Did you ever see burgers and hot dogs piled up high in a pan. Sitting in I think hot water. Well that is what you got if you wanted one. Taste was fine bun not hot at all. Buns were actually cold. Carnival. Toasted buns, on the grill while you get yours. Some ships now have Guys Burger Joint. Excellent. Next was the evening buffet. It to was excellent except for the instant potatoes. Probably thinking I am a nut about mashed potatoes. I am! So go figure. One evening real mashed potatoes, went to get more. Instant. The cook said they were never any real potatoes. Slapped in the face hello!
