We were a group of 8 couples, friends for 30+ years traveling together. We planned the trip for almost two years. We began our trip in Atlanta, Georgia, and Delta Air Lines did a fantastic job of taking us from there and back. We spent 2 days in Rome prior to the cruise departure. We spent most of our time trying to see as many of the main tourist sites as possible. We were disappointed that Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps were closed. Regardless, we had a great time and were able to see quite a lot thanks to the excellent service we recieved from Limousine Systems. The vans comfortabley seated 8 people, and the drivers were courteous and did a good job of explaining the sights. Viola in the office was very good at setting up scheduled pick-ups and was very prompt in returning emails. When I return to Rome, they will always be my first choice for transportation. We stayed at the Best Western Piccadilly located at Via Magna Grecia 122 - 00183 - Rome. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and offers and excellent breakfast each morning. I have used this hotel on two separate occasions and was very satisfied with the service.
We arrived at the port by two vans around 1300, and was onboard the ship and in our cabins by 1430. Our luggage began to arrive rather quickly with the last pieces arriving before dinner. The cabins were small yet comfortable and sufficient. I did miss the shower enclosures as the the curtain continually blew inward on an alread cramped space. Special thanks to Silmara for doing an excellent job of keeping our room tiddy and ice bucket full! She was very sweet, polite and always smiling!
We ate most of our meals in the MDR and everyone thought they were very good. Ivan and his team did an exceptional job of serving our food each night and we all enjoyed their pleasant and accomodating attitude. We did enjoy Chops on one evening, the food was amazing. However, the staff became a little pushy during the week as they tried to encourage us to return. Every night they were at our table trying to get us to come back by offering discounts. As much as we enjoyed it, we were quite satisfied to eat in the MDR with Ivan and crew.
